Since completing the course and really focusing on how I manage my diabetes around exercise, my HbA1c has decreased dramatically.

"Hello, I am 26 years old and I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 20 years. I live in Leeds and am originally from Northumberland. I currently work in Digital Healthcare alongside raising awareness of T1D, creating T1D-centered content on Social Media, and working closely with Diabetes UK to help create a supportive network for young people living with Type 1 Diabetes across the North.

The Type 1 diabetes and Physical Activity course is absolutely fantastic! It has completely changed how I manage my diabetes whilst staying active. I had no idea how much a big part exercise has in blood sugar levels. It is so fantastic to see resources available like this, since completing the course and really focusing on how I manage my diabetes around exercise, my HbA1c has decreased dramatically. My mental health around Diabetes has never been better and I finally get to enjoy exercising!"

Carbohydrate counting

Course completed: Carbohydrate Counting

"I have had diabetes for 20 years and have never been offered carb counting or had it discussed until now.  For Type 1 diabetes this should be a top priority as I had no idea the things I have been doing wrong until I had this course."

Understanding type 1

Course completed: Understanding Type 1 Diabetes

"This is fantastic! My 10-year-old daughter is newly diagnosed and this course helped me so much with a few things that I’m still a bit uncertain with.  A huge thank you."

Freestyle libre

Course completed: FreestyleLibre

"Thank you for a brilliant informative course not just about how to use the Freestyle Libre sensor and monitor, but also about Type 1 diabetes in general. I have learned about Dawn Phenomenon which was extremely helpful. Nobody ever mentioned it to me although I have told a diabetes nurse about my unexplainable higher levels in the morning. Thank you again. I am looking forward to starting my new Freestyle Libre 2 very soon.
